Sample details

ULSAM is an epidemiological study of men born between 1920 and 1924 living in Uppsala County, Sweden. ULSAM started as a health investigation focused on identifying metabolic risk factors for cardiovascular disease. All 50 year-old men living in Uppsala were invited to participate from 1970 to 1973, with 2,322 participating in the study. The men were thereafter investigated again at ages 60, 70, 77, 82, 88, and 93 years. The latest data collection at 93 years was carried out between December 2013 and March 2015, with 147 men taking part.
