The VARHS aims to capture information on various aspects of rural livelihoods in Vietnam, such as land, credit, labour, income, consumption, education, health, housing, and social capital. The VARHS surveys over 3,600 rural households in 12 provinces of Vietnam. It also includes surveys at the commune (region) level, as well as households. The baseline survey was conducted in 2002 and has been conducted every two years since then.
