Sample details

The Vukuzazi population science programme was formed in 2018 to help understand the prevalence of different diseases within the southern Population Intervention Programme (PIP) area, including Machibini and Mtubatuba of South Africa. This project aims to build on the information collected through this health and demographic surveillance. The participants were recruited through a household visit, and were aged over 15 years at baseline. The participants carried out a comprehensive health screening and questionnaire at baseline, and are then followed up through the AHRI PIP surveillance.
