Sample details

The XAMC study follows a cohort of over 110,000 pregnant mothers and their children, of which there were over 120,000, including over 3,900 twins. Mothers were recruited from the Northwest Women's and Children's Hospital in Xi'an, China, when they were at less than 20 weeks of gestation and planned to deliver at the hospital. Two sub-cohorts were established within the study cohort: sub-cohort 1, including mother-child pairs recruited from January 1st 2017; and sub-cohort 2, including mothers and children who provided faeces samples after delivery from the 1st sub-cohort.
