The Xi'an Study aimed to investigate risk factors and prevalence of cardiovascular disease in a population of factory workers in Xi'an, China. Over 1,800 employees of the factory aged 35 years or older completed baseline assessment in 1976 and were followed up in 1994. Participants were then tracked for mortality and health outcomes using linked data until 2011.
