YaHS is a study focused on investigating the incidence and risk factors of chronic illness in Iran's adult population. Participants aged 20 - 70 were recruited from Shahediah, Zarch, Hamidia, and the surrounding villages in the Greater Yazd area in Iran, representing a diverse demographic of the local population. At baseline, over 9,000 participants were included in the study. Participants are followed up every five years to monitor their health and lifestyle changes.
