Sample details

The Netherlands Twin Register (NTR) was established in 1987, focusing on collecting data from twins and their families, with an extensive array of data now gathered from over 70,000 children born since 1985 through age-specific, longitudinal surveys. The surveys track a variety of developmental milestones and health-related factors from infancy through adulthood, including emotional, behavioural, and physical aspects, while also collecting DNA and biological samples to explore genetic influences. This ongoing project has evolved to include more in-depth assessments like IQ, MRI, and cardiovascular measures, aiming to enhance understanding of the genetic bases of mental and physical health development in children and adolescents.
