The Yunnan Tin Miner Cohort Study investigated the effect of environmental exposures and other factors on the development of coronary heart disease. In 1992, the study recruited adults aged 36-75 years who worked in the Yunnan Tin mines in Yunnan, southwestern China. Participants were followed up in person every 2 to 5 years and continuously followed up through death records between 1992 and 2001.
